This debut novel is draining.  It will fill your hours.  The main character, Blythe becomes a mother, though she is the victim of a mother and grandmother who did no mothering, just the opposite.  Blythe marries Fox and they have Violet and Sam….and they love their children.  What ensues is heartbreaking.  At one point, I even began to doubt what Blythe was experiencing…was she imagining things, was she crazy, was it post party????  This book is so much about the concept of mothering and what it entails. It is a hard job that comes without any training or manual, just our own experiences.

It is hard to blog about this book because i do not want to have any spoilers here.  The book is captivating and disturbing.  See for yourself.  I did the audio and the ebook.
