The Arsonist

In this novel, our main character, Frankie, returns to New England after having spent 15 years as a relief worker in Africa.  She returns to her parent's summer home where she sees a diminished father and an alienated and scared mother.  Amidst this, a series of fires are being set to summer homes.  Many characters make up this novel which is intriguing.  The characters are well drawn and the reader can almost feel Frankie’s worries, concerns and uncertainty.

I enjoyed ths novel but it is not one of my favorites, though I read most of what this author writes.  I will continue to do so.
