Normal People

I listened to this book continuously because I really could not stop.  It is so engaging.  The characters are real and incredibly depicted.  They circle each other from early school years in Ireland right though and after college at Trinity in Dublin.  The NPR review which is linked to the book cover to the left beautifully tells enough of the story that you will want to read or listen to this book.

Marianne and Connell, from distinctly different backgrounds are lifelong friends and/or lovers and maybe both.  Marianne comes from an emotionally poor but wealthy family and Connell comes from an emotionally strong and poor mother.  One feels accepted, one doesn’t.  College changes things, friends come and go and insecurities abound.

Dont miss this book!
