Alice Kelleher, widow of Daniel, is very Irish and very Catholic and harbors guilt from her early life.  She is a beautiful but difficult woman.  She has three adult children and they all have their own stories.  Each summer the children all have their designated time at the summer compound in Maine.  They descend there upon Alice.  All the resentments, hopes, sadnesses and happy memories are there as well.

This is a family story and how families manage, survive and continue to love each other.

I enjoyed this book
