Glory Over Everything

This is the continuation of the much loved historical novel, The Kitchen House.  Five years after the publication of her first novel, the author has brought us back to the plantations of Virginia and the intricacies of the Underground Railroad.  Jamie Pyke, successful and part black but passes for white, goes in search of Pan, the son of a dear old friend and mentor.  What ensues is a host of unforgettable characters who make this story come alive.  Robert, Miss Caroline, Rankin and Henry all play roles in Jamie’s search for his place in society.  The struggles are huge as are the secrets and the author is adept at making it all work.
